Millennium Hotels & Resorts MEA Joins World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance
Millennium Hotels and Resorts Middle East & Africa has recently joined the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, a significant move to advance sustainability in the region's hospitality sector. The announcement was made at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024 earlier this month, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to promoting sustainable practices.
As a new affiliate member, Millennium Hotels & Resorts MEA now collaborates with nearly 50 global members to collectively address critical challenges affecting the planet and communities. Through value-led resources and programs, the alliance aims to drive sustainable change in the hospitality sector, emphasizing prosperity and responsibility.
We are deeply invested in sustainability, with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals integrated into our operations through the “Millennium’s Green Path.” Initiatives include a tree-planting partnership with The Storey Group and ambitious targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 27% by 2030. By adopting eco-friendly practices and partnering with local green initiatives, we seek to offer guests environmentally conscious accommodation options while reducing our carbon footprint.
Mr. Fahad Abdulrahim Kazim, CEO of Millennium Hotels and Resorts MEA and Lakhraim Group, expressed enthusiasm about the alliance membership, stating, “We are committed to environmental responsibility and believe that the Alliance’s collaborative approach will be instrumental in achieving our sustainability goals.”
Glenn Mandziuk, CEO of the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, welcomed Millennium Hotels MEA as a member, stressing the importance of collective action in driving the hospitality industry towards a sustainable future. He emphasized the alliance’s mission to lead global hospitality towards a prosperous future that prioritizes giving back more than it takes.
